What is a 3AG fuse? The 3AG cartridge fuses are small glass electronic fuses with metal caps.
The 3AG fuse dimensions are a diameter of 1/4 inch and a length of 1-1/4 inches (6.3 X 32MM) and are very common in Arcade Games including pinballs, jukeboxes, and video games.
The 3AG designation stands for Automotive Glass and reflects its original design as an automotive fuse back in the 1930's. The 3AG fuse size is constructed with a glass body and is less expensive than the 3AB ceramic fuse.
The 3AG fuse type is offered in fast acting or time delay (Slo-Blow) versions.
They are typically in compliance with UL and CSA standards.
Fuses with these dimensions and construction type are also offered under the BSI - Britain and JIS - Japan standards.
