CS_Shroud

Plastic molded shroud/bezel for Nutting's Computer Space - cast from an original so it is the same internal (visible) size as the factory original. This plastic bezel is not brittle or extremely thin as the second generation of original Nutting CS shrouds, it is about 1/8 inch thick. Discount pricing is available for quantity purchases. This is the same for both single player (blue, red or yellow fiberglass cabinet) and the one/two player (green fiberglass cabinet) versions of Computer Space by Nutting Associates.

Note that there are no factory installation instructions (never were), and often these shrouds are not easy to fit. Many usually have to be slightly modified to fit the fiberglass cabinets.

The original monitor used is a simple portable GE TV that had some wings pop riveted to the sides. This led to errors in how everything fit together along with the cabinets never being exactly the same fit twice! I find you have to first lean the shroud up against the plexiglass, then you work the monitor in (take back door right off) - usually one side metal wing has to be inside the cabinet before you can try to fit the other. Take care not to put too much force on the metal wing or you can crack or break the TV plastic shell. Fitting the monitor into the cabinet with the shroud in place is an exercise in patience.

Next you have to juggle the shroud and the monitor to enable them to fit together. Lastly you will need to make some thin (or thick) spacers to go between the metal wings and the rear of the cabinet to compensate for differences in cabinet spacing and to make sure the shroud fits all around the face of the TV. If the TV is black it hides the fit better than if it is silver - factory tended to use black TVs.

The finish of the shroud is better than the fiberglass, and about on par with the original plastic ones - this is a direct copy (cleaned up) of an original fiberglass shroud.
