Motor Upgrade Kit for 1993 and earlier machines

This John's Jukes Ltd. kit is to replace motor (see oval motor assembly photo) with pinion gear 00000127, (motor 0011625 & pinion 0011348 & roll pin 0011623) - or older part numbers (1980s): motor and pinion 4100006900 (motor 0013120006 & pinion 0029080003). This motor (00000127) became obsolete in 1993 and was replaced with this kit for machines made prior to serial #33055850 (May, 1993).

Machines made after that serial number need kit 86450

Kit consists of:

• 86449 Motor with gear (previously 44304 motor)
• 44305 Motor Plate
• 31253 Spacer (3)
• Motor Plate Screw (6)
• Motor Screws (3)
• Connector Block

Should work (with minor modifications in earlier machines) in the following machines - compare to circled motor in photos:

This motor is only slightly noisier than the original.

New Instructions:

1) Power off - Unplugging the machine is best.

2) access the original motor by tilting up the player assembly, taking care not to scratch the inside walls of an OMT!

3) loosen the three hex (slotted) machine screws holding the original motor in place, slide motor to the left and rotate the top forward and then lift it out.

3a)Note where the two wires to the motor are connected.

4) Connect the RED wire from the new motor to the wire that was connected to the "+" on the original motor, and connect the BLACK wire to the "-" terminal on the original motor. No other changes are needed currently.

5) transfer the hex (slotted) machine screws and washers to the new motor studs and slide motor into place. Allow a slight (0.5 to 1.0mm) gap between the new gear and the large driven gear.

6) Set the Service Switch on the Selection And Credit Computer to ON.

7) place mechanism frame back in place.

8) restore power, then press button 7 to see if the gripper arm takes roughly 5 seconds to pick up a record or CD and finish placing it on the turntable. The same for returning the record/CD to the carousel.

9) secure stuff and enjoy!
